Our Story

Born on the Basalt

Guides Who Call the Golan Home

Hike Golan was founded in 2011 by a group of Katzrin-born outdoor enthusiasts who believed the Golan Heights deserved guides as rugged and knowledgeable as its trails.

Based at 5 HaRishonim Street in Katzrin, we operate year-round guided hikes across the volcanic plateau — from family-friendly nature walks to demanding full-day ridge treks. Every tour is led by a certified guide with first-aid training and an intimate knowledge of local ecology, geology, and history.

We keep groups small (max 12), move at a pace that respects the landscape, and leave no trace on the trails we love.

What Guides Every Step

Safety First

Every guide holds wilderness first-aid certification. We monitor weather, trail conditions, and group fitness before and during every hike.

Leave No Trace

We follow strict environmental protocols — pack in, pack out, stay on marked trails, and teach hikers to respect fragile ecosystems.

Local Knowledge

Our guides share the stories behind the landscape — volcanic history, wildlife habitats, seasonal wildflowers, and the human history of the Heights.

The Golan Heights

A basalt plateau rising above the Sea of Galilee, the Golan is one of Israel's great wilderness areas — oak forests, dormant volcanoes, rushing streams, and ridge-top views that stretch to Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan.
